Reuben

Reuben Vanderzalm, Director


BAppSc (Human Movement) Cert Fit Cert Eng, ESSAM AEP

Reuben is one of the two directors of Adelaide Exercise Physiology. He left his position at the RAH in June 2006 to establish AEP. Reuben is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with years of experience working with patients suffering from any one or combination of chronic conditions. Reuben has worked extensively in the areas of obesity, end stage renal disease, and has an interest in diabetes prevention and maintenance.

Chris Ftinogiannis, Director


BAppSc (Ex & Sp Sc) Cert Clin Rehab, ESSAM AEP

Chris is one of the directors of Adelaide Exercise Physiology. He left his position at the RAH in June 2006 to establish AEP. Chris is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with extensive knowledge in exercise therapy as a mode of treatment for patients suffering from chronic conditions and diseases. Chris has a special interest in physical rehabilitation and cardiac rehabilitation, overseeing the AEP cardiac rehabilitation continuing education program.

Sara

Sara Slayman, Accredited Exercise Physiologist

BAppSc (Human Movement), ESSAM AEP

Sara is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and was selected as AEP’s first graduate trainee in 2006. In this time she has been busy obtaining a broad knowledge in the industry with the predominant focus on chronic disease management. Sara undertakes some of AEP's regional Exercise Physiology work and has a special interest in the areas of weight loss and respiratory conditions.

Skye Cibich, Accredited Exercise Physiologist

BAppSc (Human Movement), ESSAM AEP

Skye was AEP's 2007 graduate trainee. After completing her Human Movement degree Skye worked as a lecturer at the Australian Institute of Fitness for over 2 years. Since joining  AEP  she has worked in all area of chronic disease management. Skye has a special interest in falls prevention and exercise for patients suffering from arthritis related conditions.

Thomas Pretlove, Accredited Exercise Physiologist

BAppSc (Human Movement), ESSAM AEP

Thomas is an accredited exercise physiologist and has been employed at AEP since May 2009. Prior to this he completed clinical training at the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre where he gained experience with patients with multiple chronic diseases. Thomas has a keen interest in the development of exercise interventions to aid in the management of cancer and ongoing treatment.

Caelum Schild, Accredited Exercise Physiologist

BAppSc (Human Movement & Health Studies), ESSAM AEP

Caelum is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and has been employed at Adelaide Exercise Physiology since April 2010. In this time he has been busy obtaining a broad knowledge in the industry at both Adelaide Exercise Physiology and Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre. Caelum has special interests in metabolic conditions, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and cancer rehabilitation.

Ryan Parfrey, Accredited Exercise Physiologist

BAppSc (Human Movement), ESSAM AEP

Ryan is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and has been employed at AEP since April 2010. He gained his accreditation through completing clinical training at both Adelaide Exercise Physiology and Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre. Ryan has worked with a range of patients with various chronic health conditions, and has a special interest in successfully implementing home based exercise interventions for the elderly.

Samantha White - Dietition

Samantha is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, having graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from Flinders University in 2008. She has significant experience in one on one counseling and enjoys the challenge of communicating scientific principles into practical advice, to enhance the chance of positive long term behavior change. Particular interest areas are in weight management, irritable bowel syndrome and the prevention and management of chronic diseases, including diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

Andrea Barber - Administration

Andrea coordinates the appointments and undertakes a range of clinic administration duties. She has been with AEP since 2009 and is usually a patients initial contact with AEP.

Adelaide Exercise Physiology (AEP) is a South Australian owned and operated company with numerous clinic locations.

AEP specialises in assisting GP’s and specialists in the management of patients with chronic conditions, while in addition to this offers a host of other services that are utilised by numerous sectors. 

AEP is staffed only with Accredited Exercise Physiologists to ensure the services offered are of the highest standard, and the advice given and procedures followed are evidence based, following best practice guidelines.
