I have been working as part of the team at Adelaide Obesity Surgery since 2007. I help people implement exercise and physical activity as a lifestyle and make it feel less like a painful chore. The importance of exercise and physical activity for weight loss surgery goes far beyond just assisting weight loss. Getting strong and fit before surgery reduces surgical risk and complications and improves recovery after surgery so that you can get back into the things you enjoy. It also helps maintain muscle mass, improves energy levels and self confidence.

During my post graduate studies, I developed a passion for helping people suffering from lung conditions. As an asthma sufferer myself, I understand the importance of fitness, breathing control and health to make breathing easy and to reduce anxiety when breathing is difficult.  I have developed the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program ‘Breathe Life’, at AEP Health Group for people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and chronic asthma sufferers. I am also a qualified Lung in Action coordinator.

In addition to my qualifications, it is my personal values that make me love my job. I have never been the best at any sport, but I certainly love trying to be.  I am a strong believer in pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and look for new things to inspire me.  I believe that any goal can be achieved, even if it may take a few attempts! I love giving people the inspiration, motivation and belief that they can achieve good health and fitness, especially when they feel it may all be too hard. I love helping people believe in themselves and watching them evolve with confidence and happiness.

I am also an avid animal lover, having a dog, 5 chickens and a cat. I volunteer at the Animal Welfare League, and believe walking the dog is the best exercise!
